Softball Game Preview: Cypress Centurions vs. Kennedy Fighting Irish

The Cypress Centurions will venture away from home to square off against the Kennedy Fighting Irish at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Cypress is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Cypress had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Kennedy on Saturday. Everything went Cypress' way against Kennedy as Cypress made off with an 8-1 win.

The team relied heavily on Sanaiyah 'Naya' Cleland, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Haney, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Cypress' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cypress has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Kennedy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
