American Fork took a 21-point loss the last time they faced off against Lone Peak, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cavemen came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knights on Friday, sneaking past 31-28.

Prince Afu had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 79 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. American Fork also got help from Ty Holmstead, who showed off his sure hands for 97 receiving yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something American Fork proved: they limited Lone Peak to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Corbin Bauerle for the heroic effort on defense: he. American Fork's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.5.

Kennan Pula and Cruz Christensen certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Pula picked up 146 receiving yards and two TDs, while Christensen threw for 296 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
