Recap: Ridgemont Golden Gophers vs. Vanlue Wildcats
The Ridgemont Golden Gophers lost against the Vanlue Wildcats back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Ridgemont fell to Vanlue 42-37.
Ridgemont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayda Dondrea, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and four blocks. Dondrea is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Anna Ramsey was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Mara Simon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Vanlue, scoring 16 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Secord, who scored seven points along with six steals.
Ridgemont's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Vanlue, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
Ridgemont's road trip will continue as they head out to face Upper Scioto Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. As for Vanlue, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverdale at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverdale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
