Baseball Recap: Emmanuel Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Emmanuel Christian Academy had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 4-7 to make it four. They fell just short of the Legacy Christian Academy Knights by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Knights this season, with their most recent defeat being a 13-3 loss on Thursday.

Emmanuel Christian Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Bowden, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Grayson Lisle, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Legacy Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.

On Legacy Christian Academy's side, Justin Harphant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, David Cancino was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Legacy Christian Academy is undefeated when Cancino posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Tooker, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Coming up, Emmanuel Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin Monroe at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they will take on Yellow Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
