It was a proper cat-fight when Pikeville faced off against Shelby Valley on Wednesday. The Pikeville Panthers blew past the Shelby Valley Wildcats 76-48. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Pikeville is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points over those games. With the loss, Shelby Valley broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-13.

Looking ahead, Pikeville will challenge Martin County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Shelby Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-61 defeat against Floyd Central on the 1st.
