Basketball Game Preview: Culpeper County Blue Devils vs. Courtland Cougars

Culpeper County is 2-8 against Courtland since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Culpeper County Blue Devils will host the Courtland Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Culpeper County will bounce into Monday's contest after beating King George, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. Culpeper County walked away with a 62-52 win over King George on Friday.

Meanwhile, everything went Courtland's way against Caroline on Friday as Courtland made off with a 58-33 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Courtland is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Culpeper County, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Culpeper County suffered a grim 49-29 defeat to Courtland in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Culpeper County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
