Baseball Recap: Destin Takes a Loss

Destin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 8-3 to the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buccaneers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Destin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxx Emmert, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Emmert hit this season.

Destin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for North Bay Haven Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Destin will host Baker at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Destin's pitchers better be ready for this one: Baker has averaged an impressive 11.9 runs per game this season. As for North Bay Haven Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Crossroad Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Crossroad Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.55 runs per game on average), something North Bay Haven Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
