Football Recap: Buchholz Comes Up Short Despite Taylor Booth's Big Defensive Game

Buchholz and Lake Minneola squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Buchholz had to settle for second. They took a 13-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Bobcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Buchholz didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Taylor Booth. She is on a roll when it comes to interceptions, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 12 games she's played.

The critical scores for Lake Minneola came from Dai Gentry and Kumari Wright.

The loss snapped Buchholz's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-2 record. As for Lake Minneola, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Coincidentally, Buchholz and Lake Minneola will both be playing Belleview the next time they take the field. The Hawks will head out to face the Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bobcats will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
