Football Recap: Watertown Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The Watertown Purple Tigers didn't have quite enough to beat the Liberty Creek Wolves on Friday and fell 25-22.

When it comes to explaining why Watertown lost, don't look at Garrett Davis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 171 yards and one TD. Davis is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. 88 of Davis' passing yards were hauled in by Carmello Davis, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Barrett O'Brien went supernova For Liberty Creek., throwing for 186 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 72 yards. Those 186 passing yards gave O'Brien a new career-high. Worth Roberts was another key player, picking up 35 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Watertown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Liberty Creek, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

Coming up, Watertown will welcome Forrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Purple Tigers will be up against the Rockets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.44 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Liberty Creek, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-10 loss against Pearl-Cohn on the 30th.
