Baseball Recap: Webster Groves Takes a Loss

Webster Groves extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 5-9. They lost 15-0 to the Lindbergh Flyers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Statesmen of the 5-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for Lindbergh, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Lindbergh's part, they let Jon Calcaterra and CJ Luczak run wild. Calcaterra went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double, while Luczak went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Luczak has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Karsen Stout, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Webster Groves will square off against St. Louis University at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lindbergh, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Oakville at 4:15 p.m.
