Volleyball Game Preview: Irvington Preparatory Academy vs. Monrovia Bulldogs

Irvington Preparatory Academy will head out on the road to take on the Monrovia Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Irvington Preparatory Academy is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Wabash Valley HomeSchool just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Warriors.

Irvington Preparatory Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-13.

Despite the defeat, Irvington Preparatory Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore John Curry had 12 digs.

Meanwhile, Monrovia made easy work of Beech Grove on Friday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won three in a row.

Monrovia not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Beech Grove between 15 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-18, 25-18.

Irvington Preparatory Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Monrovia, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
