Softball Recap: Madison County Extends Winning Streak to Five

Madison County waltzed into their match on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Cold Springs Eagles get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. With that win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Not much got past Savannah McGilton, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Cold Springs off the board. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for McGilton.

At the plate, Madison County got a massive performance out of Livy Huter, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Cantrell, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Huter wasn't the only one making solid contact: Madison County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Madison County's victory bumped their record up to 19-10. As for Cold Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14-1.
