Basketball Recap: Hidalgo Comes Up Short

Hidalgo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 63-18 loss at the hands of the Victoria East Titans. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1272nd, while the Titans are ranked 565th).

Hidalgo's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Victoria East, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Hidalgo has already played their next game, a 50-38 defeat against Sinton on the 6th. As for Victoria East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-25 loss against Victoria Cobra HomeSchool on the 6th.
