Softball Recap: Willow Spring Storm vs. Heritage Huskies

With a playoff game on the line, Willow Spring rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They never let the Heritage Huskies onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but Willow Spring sure is getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

Not much got past Kathryn Whitehurst, who gave up just four hits to keep Heritage off the board. Whitehurst has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Willow Spring's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Marcy, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lynlee Ogburn, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Willow Spring's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3. As for Heritage, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.
