Preview: Westwood Christian Warriors vs. Hart 2 Hart Academy Warriors
Westwood Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Hart 2 Hart Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Westwood Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Westwood Christian lost a heartbreaker to Corinth Christian Academy when they met back in January of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again. Westwood Christian took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Corinth Christian Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Westwood Christian in their matchups with Corinth Christian Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brett Bozeman, who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Tripp Kirkland was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hart 2 Hart Academy came up short against St. John Lutheran on Monday and fell 41-33.
Westwood Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Hart 2 Hart Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.
Westwood Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Hart 2 Hart Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, but they still walked away with a 61-56 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westwood Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
