Softball Recap: Lewisburg Makes It Four in a Row at Home

While Lewisburg's win against Northpoint Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Lewisburg sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Northpoint Christian on Thursday. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Anna Etter, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last nine matchups. Another player making a difference was Lindey Willhite, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Lewisburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Lewisburg pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.75 runs across that stretch. As for Northpoint Christian, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewisburg will welcome Northwest Rankin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Rankin will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Lewisburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northpoint Christian, they will host Munford at 4:03 p.m. on Friday. Northpoint Christian's pitchers better be ready for this one: Munford has averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
