Recap: Guilford Grizzlies vs. Hand Tigers
After a string of five wins, the Guilford Grizzlies's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 36-20 to Hand. Guilford lost against Hand in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 28-25 score last time.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Hilgert, who threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Caden Hillier was another key contributor, gaining 163 total yards.
It was another big night for Aidan Dolan, who rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown for Hand. Another player making a difference was Jack Shay, who threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns.
Guilford's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Hand, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-1 record.
Guilford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hand will be playing at home against St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (St. Joseph is ranked 28th, while Hand is ranked 17th).
