Baseball Recap: Kingsford Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Kingsford, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They never let the Negaunee Miners get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Monday. The Flivvers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Miners, too.

Andres Finley made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Gavin Trevillian was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Gavin Grondin was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Kingsford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters every time they've taken the field this season.

Kingsford's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Kingsford will square off against Crandon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Negaunee, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Jeffers at 4:00 p.m.
