Volleyball Game Preview: Lucas Cubs vs. Cardington-Lincoln Pirates

Lucas is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Cardington-Lincoln a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Lucas Cubs will look to defend their home court against the Cardington-Lincoln Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Lucas came up short against Black River on Monday, falling 3-0.

Lucas was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Black River work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 26-24, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Cardington-Lincoln lost 3-0 to Fredericktown on Thursday.

Cardington-Lincoln took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-11, 25-14.

Cardington-Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Lucas, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-17.

Lucas took their victory against Cardington-Lincoln in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Cubs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
