Basketball Game Preview: Clay County Panthers vs. Midland Trail Patriots

The Clay County Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Midland Trail Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clay County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Clay County is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Roane County on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Clay County was outmatched by Roane County and fell 57-8. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Midland Trail has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 59-34 to Pocahontas County on Saturday.

Midland Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Clay County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.

Things could have been worse for Clay County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-31 loss to Midland Trail when the teams last played back in January. Can Clay County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
