After losing to Mariner the last time they met, Lake Stevens decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lake Stevens Vikings snuck past the Mariner Marauders with an 82-77 victory on Wednesday.

Despite the loss, Mariner still got an impressive performance from Stavontai McSwain, who posted 30 points. That was a full 39% of Mariner's points, marking the seventh time in a row McSwain has earned more than a third of the team's points.

Lake Stevens has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points over those games. As for Mariner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.

Lake Stevens has already played their next contest, a 74-50 loss against Woodinville on the 15th. Mariner does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
