Baseball Recap: DeKalb Tigers vs. King City Wildkats
DeKalb extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-8 in the process. They lost 16-2 to the King City Wildkats. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildkats from their previous meeting back in March of 2019.
As for King City, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-8. Considering they have won six contests by more than ten runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
For King City's part, the team relied heavily on Darwin Bowden, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Bowden a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Medsker, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DeKalb will venture away from home to take on Rock Port at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Jays' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for King City, they will face off against Osborn at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
