Softball Recap: Africentric Early College Takes a Loss

Africentric Early College lost against Marion-Franklin back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Nubians came up short against the Red Devils, falling 21-6. That's two games in a row now that the Nubians have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Kayla Elder and Tashay Hammons did some serious damage despite the final result: Elder scored two runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3, while Hammons scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jacarree Scott, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Africentric Early College's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Marion-Franklin, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Africentric Early College will challenge rival Eastmoor Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Marion-Franklin is set to face off against their familiar foe Briggs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
