University Lab had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ponchatoula Green Wave, sneaking past 52-49. This was payback for the Cubs, who suffered a 67-64 loss the last time these two teams met.

University Lab's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Ponchatoula, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

University Lab and Catholic will meet on Tuesday for a tough Bear Battle. As for Ponchatoula, they and Dunham will face off at 5:50 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
