Preview: Pikesville Panthers vs. Loch Raven Raiders
After two games on the road, Pikesville is heading back home. They will take on The Loch Raven Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Pikesville narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lansdowne 16-14.
Meanwhile, Loch Raven had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 44-6 win over Patapsco. The result was nothing new for Loch Raven, who have now won four matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loch Raven to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keyon Fauntleroy, who rushed for 68 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 188 yards and a touchdown on only 15 passes. Another player making a difference was Paige Green, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Finally capturing their first win of the season, Pikesville advanced to 1-6. As for Loch Raven, their win on Friday bumped their record up to 5-2.
Pikesville took a serious blow against Loch Raven in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 50-0. Will Pikesville have more luck at home instead of on the road?
