Softball Recap: Bishop Kearney Find Success

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Bishop Kearney ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Northstar Christian Academy Knights 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Kings in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won nine in a row.

Addisyn Enscoe spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Claire Spears, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Sara Skripnik, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Bishop Kearney's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Northstar Christian Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 13-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Bishop Kearney will venture away from home to square off against Lyons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northstar Christian Academy, they will head out to challenge Lima Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
