Recap: Lincoln Southwest vs. Benson

Lincoln Southwest were the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They put a hurting on Benson to the tune of 56-7. Followers of Lincoln Southwest probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.

The contest started off well for Lincoln Southwest, whose offense put up 49 first-half points. Benson countered with 7 points, leaving the score at 49-7 going into the half. The Lincoln Southwest defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the match.

Senior Frazzie Wynn iii, who rushed for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Lincoln Southwest's success. The Lincoln Southwest defense stepped up as well to lay out the quarterback ten times. The win bumped Lincoln Southwest's record up to 5-1. Benson are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-6.

Next week Lincoln Southwest take on Kearney at 8:00 PM. The squad will be hoping to continue their now four-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. Benson will stay at home against Lincoln High at 7:00 PM. Benson stagger into the matchup hobbled by six consecutive losses while Lincoln High skip in buoyed by four consecutive wins.
