Basketball Recap: Martin County West Comes Up Short

Martin County West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 71-61 to the St. James Saints. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mavericks of the 85-58 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Martin County West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for St. James, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Martin County West will welcome St. James at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for St. James, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Windom at 7:30 p.m. St. James knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Windom likes a good challenge.
