Baseball Recap: Slinger Find Success

Slinger won the last time they faced Port Washington and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Owls walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Pirates.

Slinger got a great performance from Jackson Naber as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Naber has posted since back in April.

At the plate, Slinger saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Thiede, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Thiede has posted since back in April of 2024.

Slinger's record now sits at 10-2. As for Port Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Slinger will venture away from home to square off against Grafton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Owls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Black Hawks have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Port Washington, they will host Whitefish Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Blue Dukes have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
