Baseball Game Preview: Johnsonburg Rams vs. DuBois Beavers

The Johnsonburg Rams will venture away from home to challenge the DuBois Beavers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Johnsonburg has struggled recently with 16 defeats in a row, while DuBois will arrive with nine straight victories.

On Monday, Johnsonburg came up short against Elk County Catholic and fell 9-4.

Frankie Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but DuBois ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bellefonte, sneaking past 6-5. The game was the first time the Beavers have beaten the Red Raiders on their field since March 30, 2016.

The team relied heavily on Mason Dinkfelt, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Adam Drahushak was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

DuBois lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

DuBois' record is now 9-0. As for Johnsonburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Johnsonburg might still be hurting after the 13-2 defeat they got from DuBois when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
