Baseball Game Preview: Timpview Thunderbirds vs. Spanish Fork Dons

For the second straight game, Timpview will face off against Spanish Fork. The Thunderbirds will be playing at home against the Dons at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Timpview has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 3rd.

Timpview lost 14-1 to Spanish Fork on Thursday.

For Spanish Fork's part, Jason Pintar was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Trigg Cloward, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Spanish Fork always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Spanish Fork and bumps their season record up to 17-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Timpview, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Timpview hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Spanish Fork struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs.
