Baseball Recap: Springville Triumphs

Springville won the last time they faced St. Clair County and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Fighting Saints. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

The team relied heavily on Charlie Hare, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Grant Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Springville now has a winning record of 8-7. As for St. Clair County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Springville will venture away from home to challenge Red Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Springville's pitchers better be ready for this one: Red Bay has averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season. As for St. Clair County, they will head out on the road to square off against Leeds at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
