Recap: Hampton Christian Academy Warriors vs. Broadwater Academy Vikings
The Hampton Christian Academy Warriors put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 57-8 win over Broadwater Academy. Hampton Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 24 points or more this season.
Mikaela Lee continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a triple-double on 25 points, nine rebounds, and ten steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hampton Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Crosby, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Broadwater Academy saw an underclassman step up: Kacey Ford scored five points along with five rebounds.
Hampton Christian Academy's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Broadwater Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
Hampton Christian Academy will face off against Walsingham Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Walsingham Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Hampton Christian Academy is ranked 71st). As for Broadwater Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Portsmouth Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Portsmouth Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
