Softball Recap: Niles West Gets the Win

Niles West posted their closest victory since April 22nd on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Grayslake North Knights 5-4.

Penny Hutchison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sarah Park, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.

Niles West's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Grayslake North, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-10.

Niles West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-4 loss against Mundelein on the 17th. As for Grayslake North, they will square off against Antioch at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
