Cary-Grove waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Dundee-Crown Chargers 11-1. Considering the Trojans have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Charlie Taczy was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Duvall, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs. Another player making a difference was Ricky Barnes, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Cary-Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Cary-Grove's record is now 18-10. As for Dundee-Crown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season.

Cary-Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against Dundee-Crown: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
