Softball Game Preview: Latexo Tigers vs. Slocum Mustangs

The Latexo Tigers will square off against the Slocum Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Slocum will be up against a hot Latexo squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Latexo blew past Oakwood 17-1 last Friday. The game marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season so far.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Slocum, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against Centerville on Thursday as Slocum made off with a 16-1 victory. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Slocum's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Latexo, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Latexo was able to grind out a solid win over Slocum in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-0. Does Latexo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Slocum turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
