Baseball Recap: Fordland Comes Up Short

If Fordland was riding high fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Willow Springs on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gainesville Bulldogs on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Fordland's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Gainesville, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-4.

Coincidentally, Fordland and Gainesville will both be playing Alton the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will host the Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Eagles will host them at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
