While Modoc's victory against Weed wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Braves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Cougars on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won eight in a row.

Modoc was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (109-99), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 13-25, 25-22, 19-25, 15-12.

Despite the loss, Weed still got an impressive performance from Judith Atondo, who had 28 digs. Riley Dawson also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Modoc's win bumped their record up to 6-7-2. As for Weed, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Coming up, Modoc will challenge Central Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Weed, they will square off against Trinity at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
