Baseball Recap: Wilton Warriors vs. Danbury Hatters

Wilton lost a close one when they played last Friday but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. Their tough 7-1 loss to the Danbury Hatters might stick with them for a while. Wilton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Danbury apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

For Danbury's part, Charlie Solimine spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. Those seven innings set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, Joe Cianflone was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Matt Morehouse was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Wilton and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Danbury, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
