Baseball Recap: L.C. Bird Skyhawks vs. Prince George Royals
L.C. Bird had lost five straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it six. They lost 17-5 to the Prince George Royals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-7 two weeks ago.
As for Prince George, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2. Considering they have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
For Prince George's part, Bryce Carmichael made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Carmichael has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
