Soccer Game Preview: Mexia vs. Harmony Science Academy

Mexia is a perfect 5-0 against Harmony Science Academy since January of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mexia Black Cats will challenge the Harmony Science Academy Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Mexia's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Mexia who was credited with the win on Monday. Mexia got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Hearne's four. The victory continues a trend for the Black Cats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Mexia's one-goal win came courtesy of Mario Lambarri, who's now up to ten this season.

Harmony Science Academy is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Tuesday. They lost 8-1 to Lorena. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Tigers were already down 6-0.

Mexia's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Harmony Science Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Mexia took their victory against Harmony Science Academy in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mexia since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
