Soccer Game Preview: Memorial vs. Bluffton

The Memorial Roughriders will challenge the Bluffton Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Memorial took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Kenton a 3-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for Memorial in their matchups with Kenton: they've now won eight in a row.

Memorial hit Kenton with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Riley Luedeke, Aubrey Birt, and Claire Turner.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Bluffton sidestepped Columbus Grove for a 2-1 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Bluffton's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Columbus Grove are ranked 121st).

Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 5-6-3. As for Bluffton, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
