Volleyball Recap: Mount de Sales Academy Takes a Loss

The Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers came up short against the Valwood Valiants on Tuesday and fell 2-0.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-20.

Leading Valwood to victory were Elizabeth Edenfield and Abby O'Neal. Edenfield had seven digs and four aces, while O'Neal had 16 assists and three digs. O'Neal has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last eight times she's played. Carolyn Griner also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Mount de Sales Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Valwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount de Sales Academy will welcome Piedmont Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Valwood, they will take on Tift County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
