The Cameron Comets will venture away from home to square off against the Northwestern Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cameron will be strutting in after a win while Northwestern will be coming in after a defeat.
Cameron is headed into the game having just posted their biggest victory since September 26th on Thursday. Everything went their way against Chetek-Weyerhaeuser as Cameron made off with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Comets.
Cameron's got stronger as the match went on, holding Chetek-Weyerhaeuser to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-14.
Cameron found their leader in underclassman Bea Antczak, who had ten digs.
Cameron was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Northwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of St. Croix Falls by a score of 3-2. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Saints 26-24 in the first set.
Northwestern took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-13, 20-25, 25-23, 15-12.
Cameron is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. As for Northwestern, they now have a losing record at 13-14.
