Basketball Recap: Dynamic duo of Pat Benzer and Nick Purdie lead Canisius to victory

Basketball Recap: Canisius Crusaders vs. Niagara Falls Wolverines
The Canisius Crusaders entered their tilt with the Niagara Falls Wolverines with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Canisius came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 52-44 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Canisius also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Canisius was led to victory by Pat Benzer and Nick Purdie. Benzer scored ten points, while Purdie scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mark Macdonald, who scored six points.
Canisius' win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Niagara Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Canisius will be playing at home against the Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully the Crusaders like a good challenge. As for Niagara Falls, they will head out on the road to take on the Griffins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
