Softball Recap: Mountain Crest Has No Trouble Against Weber

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Box Elder, Mountain Crest was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Weber Warriors as they made off with a 16-3 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Abby Nelson, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Ashley Holyoak also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mountain Crest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weber only managed eight hits.

Mountain Crest's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Weber, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Looking ahead, Mountain Crest will challenge Wasatch at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Weber, they will host Skyridge at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
