Basketball Recap: Rampart Rams vs. Doherty Spartans
Rampart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 60-15 loss at the hands of the Doherty Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Spartans are ranked 20th).

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Arabelle Madril, who posted two points along with six boards and three steals. Madril has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Elliana Adams had a dynamite game for Doherty, almost dropping a triple-double with 14 points, nine rebounds, and 11 steals. The dominant performance gave Adams a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Ramos, who scored 13 points in addition to eight steals and five boards.
Rampart's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Doherty, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5.
Rampart didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-36 defeat against Fountain-Fort Carson on the 10th. As for Doherty, they will head out on the road to challenge Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Liberty: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Doherty has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
