Basketball Recap: Shiprock Takes a Loss

Shiprock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They took a blow against the Taos Tigers, falling 83-48. The Chieftains were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-21.

Despite the defeat, Shiprock saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Elishah Tsosie posted 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tsosie has scored all season. Deon Harvey was another key player, putting up seven points.

Shiprock's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Taos, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.

Shiprock has already played their next game, a 55-38 defeat against Hot Springs on the 17th. As for Taos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 69-67 loss against Hope Christian on the 17th.
