Volleyball Game Preview: Dunnellon Tigers vs. Crystal River Pirates

Dunnellon hasn't had much luck against Crystal River recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Dunnellon lost 3-0 to Central on Thursday.

Dunnellon was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Crystal River came up short against Springstead on Saturday and fell 2-0. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-21.

Dunnellon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Crystal River, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Dunnellon couldn't quite get it done against Crystal River when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
