Soccer Game Preview: South San Antonio vs. Southwest

South San Antonio hasn't had much luck against Southwest recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The South San Antonio Bobcats will venture away from home to face off against the Southwest Dragons at 7:30 p.m.

South San Antonio lost 4-1 to McCollum on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 624th, while the Cowboys are ranked 311th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Southwest made sure to put some goals up on the board against Southside on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 5-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won seven matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Southwest pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for South San Antonio, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.
